The Bay Area Climate Collaborative (BACC) is a 501(c)3 initiative of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group through its Sustainable Valley Foundation. The mayors of San Francisco (Gavin Newsom), San Jose (Chuck Reed) and Oakland (Ron Dellums), launched the BACC with the Silicon Valley Leadership Group and business and civic leaders to accelerate the clean energy market, enabling a healthy, safe and globally competitive Bay Area.〔(San Francisco Chronicle -Thinking globally in the Bay Area )〕 The BACC includes a 10-point action plan including advancing solar energy, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, and green jobs. The BACC is dedicated to providing leadership to the region for making the local clean energy economy a reality. ==History== The Bay Area Climate Collaborative was initiated March 6, 2009 at the signing of the Bay Area Climate Compact. The signing ceremony was held in Redwood City, CA at Silver Spring Networks, and was attended by leaders of local governments, agencies and businesses, as well as members of the press.
